First comment!

I received my first comment from Stacy...a fellow blogger and someone I would not have any contact with if it weren't for the blog. I'm starting to see how this works. Thanks, Stacy!

Today's topic was forgiveness...our morning Bible study is reading Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow and the chapter was pretty intense. Among other questions, "Who has offended me?" and "Who have I offended?" were two that echoed most. Instead of answering, I put off the homework deciding it was too intense to cram last minute. We have two weeks until we meet again with a church retreat in between, next weekend, so I hope to spend more time on the questions and hopefully come up with some answers.

It's kind of funny but my first reaction was to think of no one in either category...no one who's offended me and I've offended no one. See why I put off the homework? It'll take more time to really answer those questions. Of course, the conclusion was that I (we) have been forgiven and are commanded to forgive so, really, make a list on both counts but then throw it away (although go and be reconciled, also) because He has thrown the list away regarding me (us). Amazing grace.

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:12-14

Put on love.

Yeah.
