Saturday Evening
We spent Saturday evening at Art & Lisa's house swimming (um, okay, splashing around) in their "arctic" pool & "warmer" (not by much) jacuuzi and having dinner and just hanging out. Lisa's Mom, Diane, was there, too, and I've included a picture of her cuddling with Abigail. Abigail would sit up straight on her lap and Diane would ask her, "Want to cuddle?" and Abigail would sink into her arms - over and over again. She's our cuddle bug. Hannah is cuddly on her own terms, a lot like me. Hey, we're many parts Norwegian - it's just who we are. Anyway, Diane is a remarkable woman for many reasons not the least of which is her having raised three daughters by herself when her husband/their father died of cancer when the girls (Lisa being the oldest) were 8, 7 and 3. Lisa is not pictured here but she's pictured in the earlier entry about Lisa and Michelle and our being friends since high school. Which makes Diane a surrogate aunt, of sorts. I'm a big fan of the whole family. At dinner, Diane declared, "I'm so happy you're back in town." Thank you, Diane. Me, too.
